"Masala  Idly Fry" , is another simple , easier and tastier snack item that can be done faster. This dish has its own flavor and it will be delicious when eaten independantly too. The consistency  will be crunchier because of the bread crumbs which is added finally in this dish.




Masala Idly Fry

Recipe


Ingredients
1. Mini idly or full idly cut into small pieces 10-15 pieces.

2. Onion medium size - 1 no.

3. Tomato small size - 1 no.

4. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

5. Chilli powder -1 tsp

6. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

7. Salt

8. Bread crumbs (optional) - 1tbsp


Method

1. This recipe can be made from left over idly , heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds , urad dhal and when it   starts to crackle add curry leaves and then add chopped onions and saute till it turns golden brown and then add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 more min.

2. Now add tomatoes , turmaric powder, chilli powder , salt and saute it till it gets cooked . 

3. You can add little water if u feel the mixture is too dry , next add the ldly in to it and mix it properly n close it with a lid n let it cook for 3min , so that all the flavour get into the idlies.

4. Then open the lid and add bread crumbs and mix it till it gets little dry , garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot .

Note:For extra flavour you can add grtaed carrot or chopped dcapsicum . 
Bread crumbs are added atlast to give a crunchy flavour to the dish.

"Peanut Chaat" 

Recipe

Ingredients


1. Raw peanuts - 1cup

2. Medium sized onion (finely chopped) - 1 no.

3. Small size tomato (finely chopped) - 1 no.

4. Green chillies(finely chopped) - 1 no.

5. Coriander leaves (finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
6. Salt - 1/2 tsp

7. Chaat masala - To your needs

8. Lemon - 1/2 fruit


Method
1. Pressure cook the peanuts with salt  for 3-4 whistles and drain the water completely and put it in a bowl .

2. Add the onions , tomatoes , green chillies , coriander leaves , chaat masala n mix it well.

3. Squeeze half lemon and check the taste , you can always add extra lemon or chilli according to your taste buds.

Note : For extra taste you can add grated carrots and also raw green mango,some people like it very spicy and some like it lemony , so add chaat masala and lemon according to your taste.

"Vazhakai varuval" , is another tastier and spicy dish variety made in South India . Vazhakai varuval  has its own flavor and crunchy consistency when cooked properly however you will get to that consistency eventually , if your trying it for the first time.

Best side dish with sambar rice, curd rice , rasam rice .

Recipe

Ingredients

1. Raw green banana (Vazhakai) - 2 nos medium sized

2. Saunf - 1 tsp

3. Chilly powder - 1 tsp or to your taste

4. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

5. Oil - To fry to your needs

6. Coriander powder - 1 tsp

7. Salt - To taste



Method

1. Slice the vazhakai into pieces like shown in the picture or to your desired shapes , wash it nicely and and keep it ready.

2. Now in a bowl add these sliced  vazhakai and add chilly powder , turmeric powder , coriander powder , salt , saunf  and nicley mix the contents and  keep it aside for 5 mins so that the masala gets nicely stick to sliced vazhakai.

3. Now take a frying pan and add 3-4 tblspn of oil and add vazhakai and nicely fry it , while cooking periodically flip the vazhakai so that both the sides of vazhakai gets evenly fried and finish your cooking ,serve it hot.

"Vendaikkai(Lady's Finger) Mandi" , is a traditional South Indian dish vareity made with the combination of lady's finger and tamarind juice, the flavor of tamaraind juice when mixed with the lady's finger gives out a wonderful sour taste and juicy consistency.

Best side dish with curd rice , dhal rice and chappati.

Ingredients

1. Vendaikkai(Lady's Finger) - 150 gm

2. Onions (big) - 1 no

3. Ripe Tomato - 1 no 

4. Tamarind juice - 2 tblspn

5. Green chilly - 2 nos or to your taste

6. Salt & Oil  -To your taste

7. Mustard seeds , Bengal Gram(Ulunthum paruppu ) - 1/4 tsp each

8. Curry leaves - 4-5 nos

9. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

10. Sugar or jaggery - 1 pinch


Method

1. Wash the lady's fingers and cut into small pieces and keep it ready.

2. Now in a frying pan add 2-3 tblspn of oil and when oil is heated up add mustard seeds , ulunthum paruppu , curry leaves and saute.

3. Then add chopped onions , turmeric powder and green chillies and cook till raw smell of onions goes off and now add chopped lady's finger  and chopped tomatoes to the pan and nicely cook for 5-7 mins and finally add salt a pinch  of sugar or jaggery  and tamarind juice to the pan and cook for 10 mins in medium flame with the lid of the pan being closed.

4.Finish your cooking and serve hot.

Note: Use non-stick pan while doing this dish or else if you use regular pan , you should be careful that the contents do not get stick to the frying pan and you should periodically stir the dish while cooking.

"Bread Pizza" , is a simple and easy to make variety snack dish prepared with very little ingredients and its faster to make and whenever there are surprise guests at your home this dish plays a good foodie for them and they will definitely like it.

Ingredients

1. Bread slices - 6 nos

2. Onion - 1 no

3. Tomato - 1 no

4. Basil leaves  chopped - To your needs

5. Cheese - To your needs

6. Salt and pepper - To your needs

7. Capsicum - 1 no

8. Tomato Sauce - To your needs

Method

1. In a bowl add chopped onion , tomato , capsicum , basil leaves , salt , pepper and nicely mix it and top up to your bread slices and then spread some tomato sauce and then add cheese scraps and heat in oven for 5-10 mins at 300 degree centigrade or till cheese becomes hardened.
