"Yezhumbum Parauppum Kozhmabu", is one typical and traditional South Indian country dish famous for its combination of dhal with mutton and its flavor is very unique and it will give you a different foodie experience when taken with plain white rice.

Best side dish for white plain rice, Idly.

Recipe

Ingredients

  1.      Bone Mutton – 1/4  kg,

  2.      Thuvaram paruppu(Yellow Split Peas)- 3/4  tumbler(1 tumbler =250 ml)

  3.      Chilli powder- 1 tbl spoon.

  4.      Coriander powder -2 tbl spoons

  5.      Turmeric powder – 1/4 t.spoon

  6.      Big Onion – 1 no.

  7.      Tomato – 2 nos.

  8.      Tamarind water- take one lemon sized tamarind.

  9.      Saunf- 1/4  teaspoon.

  10.  Oil – 3-4 tbl spoons.

  11.  Stone Salt - to taste

  12.  Curry leaves – 6-7 leaves.

  13. Vadagam - 1/4 of lemon size.

Method

  1.      Pour oil in cooker in and add 1 to 7 and stoned salt ingredients and close the cooker and cook for 10 mins.

  2.      Open the cooker and add tamarind water and mix it well.

  3.      Separately take vadagam , saunf , curry leaves and fry it in  pan with 2 tbl.spoon oil(Thaalichu) and it to the mutton masala in cooker and cook for 5 mins and serve it.
