"Tomato Rice" is a special variety rice dish made often in South Indian houses as easy to make and fast to cook dish which is always liked from kids to elders at our home.In this dish type tomatoes and bit of tamarind water is also added to enhance the flavor which gives us a different foodie experience.
Best side dish for this dish is coconut chutney or tomato sauce and appalam.

Recipe
Ingredients
1.Rice : Water - 1:2 (cups)
2. Tomatoes - 2 nos.
3. Big Onion - 1 no
4. Tamarind Water - 1 teaspoon
5. Garlic tooth - 3 -4 nos.
6. Salt & Oil - To taste.
7. Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
8. Curry leaves - 5-6 nos.
9. Black gram - 1/4 teaspoon
10. Coconut tooth - 1 tbl.spoon
Method
1. Grind coconut,tomato,onion and garlic and keep it separately.
2. Saute mustard seeds,black gram and curry leaves in a pan with little oil(Thalippathu) and put it to the mixture above.
3. Add tamarind water to the mixture above and add water when it boils add rice and cook in cooker for 3 whistles.
